Upcoming 4-H Events
4-H offers a variety of events and hands-on learning opportunities designed to engage participants, promote skill development, and foster community involvement. These activities help youth build valuable life skills while creating lasting memories and friendships within the 4-H community. Click on the months below to learn more about upcoming events.
Who: Dog project leaders, new and returning/re-certifying dog judges, members of the dog project who are age 16 and up and want a better understanding of how they will be judged at the Kansas State Fair 4-H Dog Show. All who register should already have knowledge of the 4-H dog program.
What: 2026 Kansas 4-H Dog Judges Training and Recertification. Participants can becomes trained and certified to judge the four dog phases of showmanship, obedience, agility, and rally obedience in the Dog Care and Training Project. This training is appropriate for leaders and potential judges.
When: January 31-February 1, 2026

Who: 4-H Youth 13-18 years old by January 1 of the current year
What: A two day event sponsored by the State 4-H Youth Leadership Council. The purpose of the event is for Kansas youth to learn how the state legislative process works and how their voice and participation in decision-making can make a difference in their local communities.
When: February 15-16, 2026
Where: Topeka, KS - Hotel Topeka at City Center (formerly Capitol Plaza)
Registration Deadline: January 26, 2026 at midnight OR when we reach our cap. Due to hotel room constraints there will be a cap on the number of attendees so register soon.
Cost: $225 per attendee

4-H Horse Panorama
Who: 4-H members ages 9-18 who are interested in Horse Bowl, Public Presentations, and Hippology. All participants, adults, and attendees must register. Coaches are responsible for registering all teams.
What: Horse Panorama gives youth the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of equine science, structure, movement, and more in a competitive yet supportive environment that emphasizes learning, fairness, and fun. This event also helps determine which youth will represent Kansas 4-H at the national Horse Bowl, Hippology, Horse Public Speaking and Horse Demonstration contests.

Registration Deadline: Early bird registration deadline is January 30, 2026 and includes a t-shirt. Late registrations accepted until February 6, 2026.

Flint Hills District Club Day
Who: All 4-H members in both Chase and Morris counties. 4-H'ers in each county only compete against other 4-H'ers from their county.
What: 2026 Flint Hills District Club Day. Club Day is an opportunity for 4-H'ers to showcase their talents in public presentations, parliamentary procedure, and talent performances as indiviuals or groups. FCS Judging will also be held at District Club Day in 2026
When: Saturday, February 28, 2026

Who: 4-H youth, parents, beef project leaders, extension agents, and ag teachers. This is a family event. Anyone attending the event must register, including youth and adults.
What: Presentations by K-State faculty, K-State livestock judging team members, students, and guest speakers will cover topics such as selection, nutrition, daily care, meat science, reproduction, health, grooming, and showmanship. An optional YQCA certification class will be offered at the end of the day.
When: Saturday, March 7, 2026

Regional Club Day
Who: 4-H members from Chase and Morris counties who qualified at District Club Day
What: The next level of Club Day competition for those who received top blue in their county at District Club Day.
When: March 28, 2026

Who:This come-and-go event is open to the public, but registration is required. Educational stations are geared towards youth in grades 5-12.
What: Ag Tech Day is an opportunity for youth (and their families) to explore how technology is shaping modern agriculture. From drones and sensors to robotics and insect-tracking tools, participants will get an up-close look at both new and established technologies that help make farm management more efficient.
When: April 4, 2026 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Flickner Innovation Farm, Moundridge, KS
Cost: This is a FREE event, but registration is required.

Junior Sheep Producer Day
Who: 4-H members, parents, extension agents, ag teachers, and sheep project leaders. All ages and skill levels are invited. All participants, including youth and adults, must register.
What: An educational day of activities for attendees to increase their knowledge of youth sheep project selection and management. A variety of topics will be shared with an optional YQCA certification at the end of the day. There will be an optional tour of the sheep and meat goat center at K-State on Friday evening and Saturday following the program.

Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC)
Who: Middle and high schoolers in the state of Kansas who qualify as a local event winner, or who are selected through the Wildcard Review.
What: The Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge State Competition is to promote entrepreneurship and small business development in Kansas. The competition is for student created, managed, and owned ventures.
When: April 28-29, 2026

What: Discovery Days is a mini college experience. Youth will have the opportunity to select classes and attend social functions. The primary purpose of Discovery Days is to gain new ideas and expand your 4-H experience through action-oriented learning activities, fun tours, and evening social events.
