NE Area 4-H Leadership Event (NELE)

Kansas 4-H is Jammin' Out with Leadership!  4-H members 12 to 18 are invited to the NE Region 4-H Leadership Event (NELE) Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm in Heritage Hall at Rock Springs 4-H Center!  NELE is led by the Northeast Region Youth Council representatives.  Delegates can sign up for multiple classes.  Registration includes lunch, snack, and a t-shirt.  Don't miss this opportunity to meet new people, learn new leadership skills, and enjoy fun classes!

Record Keeping Workshop 

We will be offering a Record Keeping workshop on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 6 pm in the Courthouse Meeting Room.  This session will focus on the importance of keeping records in 4-H, i.e. the different approaches to keeping records for each project, pin application form, County form and State KAP forms.  We hope that you can join us!  This is scheduled prior to the start of the 4-H Council meeting.  Please let us know if you plan on attending (620-767-5136 or mr@listserv.ksu.edu)

Horse Panorama

The 2020 4-H Horse Panorama registration is open through Cvent.
4-H Horse members are encouraged to register to participate in quiz bowl, hippology, presentations and more. For more information check the rules at 2020 Contest Rules. A schedule of events is located at 2020 Tentative Schedule

When: January 24 - 26, 2020
Where: Rock Springs 4-H Center
Who: All competitive events are open to those 4-H members that are age 9 as of December 31, 2019 and not past age 19 as of December 31, 2019.

YQCA Training 

YQCA stands for Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. Any individual that plans to show market animals, commercial breeding females, and/or purebred breeding females at the 2020 Kansas State Fair or Kansas Junior Livestock Show must be YQCA certified to participate.

Shannon will be hosting two training sessions for those needing to become YQCA certified! Anyone is welcome to attend a training session to become certified! Each session will be held in the Morris County Courthouse Meeting Room. The dates are: Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 15, 2020
at 1:00 p.m.
You do not have to attend both training sessions. Only attend the session that works best with your schedule.

Citizenship In Action (CIA)

What: Would you like to have more influence in laws and rules that affect your life? Then you’ll want to go to Kansas 4-H Citizenship in Action! This two day event is sponsored by the State 4-H Youth Leadership Council. The purpose of the event is for Kansas youth to learn how the state legislative process works and how their voice and participation in decision-making can make a difference in their local communities. The legislative visit will not only familiarize youth with the capitol building, but will also show them how they can affect the legislative process.

When: February 16-17, 2020
Where: Topeka, KS
Who: Youth 13-18 years old by January 1 of the current year

Project Day

Our next Project Day is scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2 - 5 pm at the Community Building on the Morris County Fairgrounds.  This will be a day for project leaders to schedule meetings on the same day and at the same location for members to attend multiple meetings for their projects.  If you are a project leader and interested in participating, please contact the Extension Office, 620-767-5136 or mr@listserv.ksu.edu.
